Brief

Refine the packaging system for Bower Collective to elevate shelf presence, and deliver a cohesive, design-led customer experience across their range of low-waste home essentials.

Client

A sustainable home essentials brand delivering beautifully designed, low-waste products that are better for you and the planet.

The situation

What challenge was our client facing?

Bower Collective had successfully built a strong presence in the DTC space, with a loyal customer base and clear sustainability credentials. However, as they prepared to expand into retail, it became clear that their existing packaging, designed primarily for online delivery, lacked the impact, clarity, and structure needed to compete on crowded shelves. They needed a packaging system that would retain their brand ethos while adapting to the demands of the retail environment, from visibility and messaging hierarchy to shelf-ready aesthetics.

The Task

What outcome were they hoping to achieve?

Bower Collective aimed to create a packaging system that would translate their strong digital brand into the physical retail space - capturing attention, communicating their sustainable mission at a glance, and holding its own alongside more established household names. They wanted packaging that felt elevated, cohesive, and instantly recognisable, while clearly highlighting product benefits and eco-credentials to both new and existing customers in-store.

Before

After

The action

What steps did you take to help them get there?

We began by auditing the existing packaging through a retail lens—identifying opportunities to improve structure, messaging clarity, and visual standout. Working closely with the Bower team, we refined the packaging hierarchy to ensure key product benefits and sustainability credentials were immediately visible.

We introduced subtle design enhancements to align with their clean, modern brand aesthetic while improving shelf stand-out. The updated system was built to be both shelf-ready and scalable, allowing Bower to expand into new product lines and retail channels without compromising their identity.

The Result

What was the final result?

The new packaging system gave Bower Collective the shelf presence and brand cohesion needed to thrive in retail. With a refined design language, clearer messaging, and an elevated look and feel, the updated packs confidently communicated both sustainability and product benefits at a glance. The results spoke for themselves: the newly designed cases for their hand wash and body wash secured listings in multiple stores and helped Bower become the best-selling brand at a recent trade fair.
